The North Campus Open Space (NCOS) Restoration Project is restoring the upper arms of Devereux Slough with funding from partner agencies. This estuary restoration supports a diversity of birds, fish, and other wildlife, helps absorb floodwaters, and is designed to adapt to sea level rise.
NCOS features more than 2.5 miles of trails, offering scenic views and connections to the California Coastal Trail. The Marsh and Mesa Trails are currently open.
Restoration and research opportunities are provided by UC Santa Barbara’s Cheadle Center for Biodiversity & Ecological Restoration. More info can be found on the NCOS website.
Also check out other Trips & Adventurous Activities in Goleta.
Tickets for Volunteer Day at the North Campus Open Space can be booked here.
