Remote interpreting continues to expand and evolve as an essential component of language access. Whether you’re considering remote work for the first time or seeking to strengthen your foundational knowledge, this workshop offers practical guidance for navigating the virtual interpreting landscape.

We’ll examine various remote interpreting modalities, assessment strategies to gauge your readiness, common platforms and their features, and techniques for managing encounters effectively in virtual environments. You’ll also explore advocacy approaches that promote equitable language access when technical or situational limitations arise. Remote interpreting presents distinct challenges, but with the right preparation and strategies, you can approach this work with confidence. This workshop will equip you with a clear roadmap for launching or refining your remote interpreting practice.
