Caving Beginner's Weekend 2025

A weekend of cave trips and camping designed for beginners and hosted by local cavers. We will be camping at a dispersed site near the Trail of Two Forests trailhead and exploring the hundreds of lava tubes and erosional caves in the area Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, there will be several led trips running in parallel oriented towards beginners. These trips will be roughly equivalent to a strenuous hike, but require no special skills.

Details for camping and cave trip sign-ups will be released to registrants before the event. In-case of heavy rain that is not conducive to camping, we will delay the weekend to May 9-11.

- headlamps/flashlights x3
- helmet
- rugged clothes and boots
- gloves, such as garden or work gloves
