As Above, So Below: The Wisdom of Integral Science

The term ‘science’ comes from the Latin word scientia, meaning
knowledge. Yet, today it is usually confined to knowledge of material phenomena perceived through the senses. Ancient Wisdom, however, has been described as the ‘Mother of All Sciences’ because it embraces that which is knowable in all realms of consciousness – spiritual and material, transcendental as well as natural. It encompasses a knowledge of things divine, as well as things cosmic, and human.
In recent centuries, the knowledge of higher realms of consciousness has been overshadowed by an era of scientific materialism, which despite its many achievements, has resulted in partial and often polarized worldviews. Our connection with nature has been broken by an anthropocentric mindset, which puts humans centre stage, and is largely ignorant of the intricate web of life which sustains all existence. Meanwhile, new technologies, such as AI, challenge us to question what it means to be truly human; and how our wisdom traditions can play a significant role in shaping the future of AI.
What is Integral Science?
Integral science brings together a knowledge of the divine or mind (many names), the cosmos, and the human, in a single, intelligent and purposeful framework. It unites mind and matter, the spiritual and the material, reconnecting the Above and the Below, and revealing pathways of regeneration.

- Keynote talk by Wakyani Hoffman (other guest speakers to be announced).
- Illustrated presentations, by Murray Morison; and Sally and Jean-Paul Jeanrenaud.
- Meditation practices led by Sally and Jean-Paul Jeanrenaud.
- Small Discussion Groups: A Fintry Trust Reflective Guide, convened by Summer School hosts.
- Somatic practices: e.g. mindful movement, yoga, guided walks, Shinrin-Yoku, led by Summer
School hosts and invited teachers.
- Relaxation: Plenty of time to enjoy Fintry's beautiful grounds and excellent cuisine.
Dates and Times:
The Summer School will be held at Fintry, Brook, Godalming, Surrey GU8 5UQ and will run from teatime at 3:30pm Thursday 17th until after lunch on Sunday 20th July 2025.
The Summer School provides homemade vegetarian meals, mainly using seasonal garden produce, as well as home-made cakes and jams. Some dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Prices include full board, vegetarian meals, refreshments, access to all sessions, recordings of talks, Quiet Room, Studio and Gardens.

Non-Residential: £250. There is a limited number of non-residential places available
