For this visit, we’re off to Cheltenham for a ride on the GWR with an All-Line ticket, which will allow us to get on and off at whichever stations we choose and allow us to ride all day if we wish. The GWR consists of a round trip of 28 miles using part of the route of the former Great Western Railway's main line from Birmingham to Cheltenham, which used to run via Stratford-upon-Avon.
We will meet at Cheltenham Racecourse Station (///along.cages.this) at 11am for a ride on the railway to Broadway, which is a delightful Cotswold Village. The train departs at 11.35am so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time. Reserved seating has been booked on this train, so we should all be together at least on the initial journey and thereafter you’re free to travel and explore as you please.
Ample parking is available at the Station as it’s not a race day, but anyone wishing to use public transport will need to check bus connection times. Access to the car park is to be found within the Racecourse complex.
There’s a loco shed located at Toddington which is open to the public and food and drink are available at most stations along the route, although the café at Toddington is the one recommended by my contact.
The charge for this visit is £26 per head (£30 for non-members) and payment details together with final joining instructions will be sent out later - please do not make any payments until you receive confirmation of your place.
