The Minnesota Grazing Lands Conservation Association (MNGLCA), along with its partners, is hosting an event for women in the livestock industry, agency women, and women interested in learning more about grazing lands. The event will be held at a woman-owned and operated cow/calf and sheep ranch in Glenwood, MN. Women from all backgrounds and knowledge levels are encouraged to attend.
The GrazeHERs Grazing School is presented by women in agriculture from all around Minnesota. Topics covered include foundations of pasture management, managing for diversity, forage ID and quantification, manure distribution, livestock nutrition, multi-species grazing and rural mental health. Each day will begin with a classroom session at the Glenwood DNR office and continue in the field at Kelly and Bill Anderson's operation. Meals will be provided along with plenty of time for networking. Attendees will leave with a variety of tools to help them play an integral role in making decisions about grazing activities on their farms. One-on one-assistance with grazing plan development is also available.
