Ferdinand Hayden TU Annual Picnic

The Ferdinand Hayden Chapter will be holding its second annual picnic and get together at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 6pm. We’ll have rods for casting instruction and fishing (with a valid CO Fishing License) and fly tying instruction for novices! We’ll also have food and drinks.
We are also working to raise money for the Coal Ridge Fly Fishing Club, Trout in the Classroom and other school youth programs.
We’ll update folks on what the Chapter has been up to as well. We aren’t doing nothing, not by a long shot. The Lincoln Creek metal drainage and the oil trains from Utah are still a major concern. The Trout in the Classroom project that we funded for the Roaring Fork Conservancy has been a great success and hopefully we can get more going with local schools.
We also are looking for folks who want to be more engaged as Chapter leaders. It is one thing to say you’ll help, but we need folks who can roll up their sleeves at the reins of the Chapter. The current Chapter President is needing to step down due to increased homebound caregiving activities. We need people who not just help but also work to organize and create the activities, communications and other things that our Chapter can engage.
