The North Hills High School choral program will hold the 13th annual Madrigal Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church Celebration Center at 517 Sangree Road in Ross Township. Sponsored by the North Hills Choral Parents Association, this event brings to life the medieval banquet feasts in a holiday themed night of music, drama, and dinner!
The skit to be presented during the home-cooked pasta dinner is entitled “Fools Fall in Love,” and promises to leave you laughing through the antics of the jester, minstrels, a wizard, and others. Following the meal is a mini concert of old holiday favorites. In addition to the meal and skit, there will be opportunities to win raffle baskets.
A Madrigal dinner is a 21st century recreation of the Renaissance feasts held in the great baronial halls throughout England during the 12 days of Christmas. The feasts were filled with stunning pageantry, bawdy humor, endless amounts of succulent food and extraordinary music.
Proceeds will benefit the North Hills Choral Program’s continuing activities, including this year’s high school music department performance tour to Orlando, Florida, where the tour choir and orchestra will perform on stage at Disney Springs and the marching band will parade around Epcot. Students will spend time in each of the Disney theme parks during the tour which takes place over spring break.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and can be purchased with a credit card by choosing the store items below. Seating is limited, so reservations are strongly encouraged.
