Once a year, Tasmania’s small-scale farming community comes together — to share stories, spark ideas, and grow something bigger than any one farm. That gathering is Cross Pollinate.
Hosted by Sprout Tasmania, this full-day event is for farmers, growers, food lovers and anyone who cares about where their food comes from. It’s a celebration of real people, real experience, and the seasonal rhythm of life on the land.
This year’s theme — Farming Through the Seasons — takes you on a journey through a full farming year, month by month, with 12 inspiring farmer-led presentations. You’ll hear from dairy goat farmers and flower growers, regenerative graziers and permaculture designers, young families and long-time land stewards.
Expect honest conversations, practical insights, and a whole lot of heart. We’ll talk about what’s thriving and what’s hard. What it means to hold on — and when to let go. There’ll be warm food, strong coffee, and space to meet people who get it.
👋 Whether you’re on the land, dreaming about it, or just want to connect with your local food system — this day is for you. Bring your questions, your notebook, and your mates. We’d love to see you there.
