August Trail Challenge- North Bluff/Echo Cave Trail

Newell Bay Trail is a 2.8-mile out-and-back trail that offers an intermediate-level hiking experience. Begin your journey at the upper Brimmer Point trailhead. This enjoyable trail features some vertical challenges. If you're looking for a longer hike, consider extending your adventure onto the Brimmer Point or Newell Bay trails.

Echo Cave Trail is an out-and-back path measuring 1.5 miles, rated as intermediate to challenging. Start by heading east from the Castle on North Bluff Trail until you reach the Echo Cave Trail marker. This historic trail, constructed by the CCC, features rugged terrain and steep stone steps throughout its brief course. Be sure to shout and listen for your echo resonating across the canyon and reservoir before leaving the cave. If you're seeking a longer hike, consider extending your journey onto the Marsh Mountain loop.
