Do YOU want to be a writer?!
Gather your notebooks, sharpen your pencils, and get ready to write with a kids writing workshop lead by three middle grade authors. The three authors will lead participants in writing and brainstorming for an hour, then at 5 pm the store will open up to everyone for a meet and greet with the authors.
Chris Baron's newest book Spark explores resilience in kids and in our environment. Emily Barth Isler's The Color of Sound is an exploration of music, color, and family through synesthesia. Callie C. Miller's The Hunt for the Hollower follows Merlin's great grandchildren on an epic quest with the magical mischief and adventure.
Masks are optional but preferred at events. If you can't make it to the event, you can order signed books in advance below.

Chris Baron is the award winning author of Middle Grade novels in verse, All of Me, The Magical Imperfect, and The Gray from Feiwel & Friends/Macmillan, as well as The Secret of the Dragon Gems a Middle Grade novel co-authored with Rajani LaRocca from Little Bee Books. About Emily Barth Isler:
Emily Barth Isler is an author of essays and children's books, including the middle grade novel AfterMath and the forthcoming picture book Always Enough Love. Emily writes regularly about sustainability, organic/eco-friendly skincare, and healthy beauty products for magazines and blogs. Her next book, The Color of Sound, features a character who, like Emily, has synesthesia. She has a BA in Film Studies from Wesleyan University and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their two children.
About Callie C. Miller:
Callie C. Miller works in animation and has written for shows spanning the audience age from preschool to teen anime. Callie holds an MFA in writing for children and young adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and has twice placed in the Katherine Paterson Prize competition for her middle grade speculative fiction. Her books include The Hunt for the Hollower and The Search for the Shadowsoul.
