Join us around the hearth in the Saxon Longhall at Avalon Archaeology for an experiential journey into the authentic culinary traditions of our ancient ancestors.

This full-day, hands-on workshop invites you to explore the craft of historical cooking with:

Marc Cox, archaeologist and food history enthusiast

Julia Bedford, herbalist and professional chef

Together, they’ll guide you through the traditional techniques of ancient food preparation - from gathering wild and field ingredients to preserving and cooking.
