The Scottish Association for Language Teaching warmly welcomes you to our annual conference which will this year take place on Saturday 8th November 2025. The event will last from 9.30am until 3.45pm. We are hosting this event at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, in partnership with our friends and colleagues at SCILT (Scotland's National Centre for Languages).
Our chosen theme for 2025 is Language Learning in Motion: Evolving Practice for a Changing World. Against the backdrop of Scotland's Curriculum Improvement Cycle, this conference will celebrate the schools and teachers who are innovating in language teaching and working hard to keep languages on the agenda in their setting.
At this year’s conference, you will have the opportunity to hear from colleagues from different sectors who are:
• delivering engaging language learning experiences in their classroom
• motivating learners through creative approaches to the curriculum
• creating opportunities for professional learning beyond the classroom
We had a fantastic response to our call for proposals earlier this year and we are delighted to share our exciting programme with you. There are 20 different workshops on offer, with each session lasting 50 minutes. This will allow colleagues to join four different sessions across the day, and they will be able to access materials from all workshops after the event.

We are also delighted to have our national partners, the Languages team at Education Scotland and our colleagues from SCILT, represented at the conference.
