🥁 6-Week Rio Samba Drumming Course

This September, we’re diving deep into the roots of Rio-style samba—and we want you on the journey with us.
Whether you’re new to drumming or already hooked on the rhythm, this six-week course is your chance to experience the authentic energy of Rio Carnival right here in Glasgow. Samba is one of the biggest cultural exports of Brazil and central to our western ideas of what the Brazilian carnival is all about. Not to mention serves as the roots of all of the samba bands you can find all around the UK, even those that may not even play the rhythm samba!
🪘 Here’s what you can expect:
✅ Weekly 2-hour sessions led by Bloco Dandara's Artistic Director Jordan Ferguson and team
✅ Learn to play authentic Brazilian samba instruments (we’ll provide everything you need)
✅ High-energy ensemble playing, with a focus on groove, technique and teamwork
✅ Feel-good music rooted in Rio’s Carnival traditions
✅ A welcoming, inclusive group—open to all experience levels
✅ Up-to-date and culturally informed tuition
✅ Materials to practice at home and study beyond the classes (via a course only discord server!)
Whether you're building your skills or just looking for a fun way to release some energy on a Friday night, this course is the perfect excuse to shake off the week and hit the drums.

🕡 Time: Fridays 6:30–8:30pm (doors open from 6:15 if you want to arrive early and ease in)
