Generative AI is rapidly reshaping political communication. It enables political actors to persuade in ways that are cheap fast and scalable—producing personalized messages that may be false or misleading and fabricating visual “proof” of events that never happened. This talk examines the political toolbox—chatbots deepfakes microtargeting and “AI slop”—and explains how these tools are used in practice
This event is taking place in the Humanities Lecture Theatre inside the Gilbert Scott Building which is the main building of the University of Glasgow.
Tickets for From Microtargeting to Misinformation: The Political Power of Generative AI can be booked here.
