This 40-hour/5-day training course is designed to provide the knowledge and training to allow a person to serve as a Program Administrator for an organization’s fall protection program (FPP), and is based on OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and ANSI Z359 standards. Following this course, trainees should be able to:
• Ensure an organization’s FPP satisfies fall protection regulations, standards, and equipment and system requirements applicable to an organization’s type of work and environment;
• Establish and assign FPP responsibilities to individuals within an organization;
• Recognize limitations of Authorized Persons to work at height and take action to ensure that an Authorized Person’s limitations are not exceeded;
• Ensure fall protection procedures are developed for every location where an active fall protection system is used;
• Ensure a procedure to identify new fall hazards is established and implemented.
• Ensure rescue plans are coordinated to ensure a successful rescue event;
• Ensure and verify training for all personnel involved in an organization's FPP;
• Determine the frequency of periodic equipment inspections according to the environments where equipment is being used, frequency of use, and manufacturer instructions;
• Advise and provide guidance to architects, engineers, designers, and planners during the planning phases of projects to address fall hazards that will be encountered during maintenance and occupancy according to the hierarchy of fall protection and the FPP;
• Specify the use of ANSI/ASSP Z359.6 when planning permanent active fall protection systems for new and existing facilities;
• Ensure investigation of program related incidents; and
• Monitor the effectiveness of an organization's FPP by conducting or directing periodic evaluations and making improvements accordingly.
Following the successful completion of this course, trainees will receive a Competent Person, Train-the-Trainer, and Program Administrator certification through Arrow Safety.
Equipment Needs: Trainees must bring a laptop or tablet to the training.
