Drawing Workshop: Self-Portrait Narratives
Join illustrator and visual artist Lin Cheng for a relaxed, all-ages-friendly workshop where drawing becomes storytelling. As part of the opening night programme for Cheng’s solo exhibition Silent Voices, Tender Lines at Six Foot Gallery, this session invites participants to create a self-portrait that goes beyond appearance—using image, texture, and simple visual symbols to tell a personal story.
Participants will paint on a clear acrylic sheet and press it onto paper to create a unique print (monoprint / transfer print). You can also experiment with ink and brushwork on xuan paper (rice paper), and add everyday collage materials to build your portrait into a small visual narrative. Selected works may be displayed in the gallery as part of the exhibition.
Suitable for all ages. No drawing experience is needed — beginners are very welcome. The workshop is designed to be gentle and pressure-free, with optional sharing at the end.
Location Note: For easier navigation, you can search “Glasgow Argyle Hotel, 27 Washington St, Glasgow G3 8AZ” — the gallery entrance is directly opposite the hotel.
