A Work In Progress

A Work in Progress is the debut solo exhibition by self-taught Scottish-Italian artist Sonia Parisi, taking place at the New Glasgow Society from 2–5 October 2025.

This exhibition is about becoming. Sonia shares her story through a collection of artworks spanning her earliest creative explorations to her most recent works, each piece marking a step in her ongoing journey of healing, self-discovery, and cultural identity.

Drawing on her Scottish upbringing and Italian roots, Sonia’s art reflects the complexity of belonging, loss, resilience, and renewal. Having rediscovered her artistic voice after years of personal challenges, she embraces imperfection as part of the process, creating work that is raw, emotional, and authentic.

Through a blend of traditional and experimental techniques, A Work in Progress invites visitors to witness art not as a finished product, but as a living, evolving process—mirroring the human experience itself.

This exhibition is a celebration of growth, courage, and creativity—an invitation to connect and the ongoing journey of becoming.
