To mark Anti-Slavery Day 2025, we invite you to join us for a panel discussion to reflect on a decade since the enactment of the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Act 2015. Panel speakers include Detective Superintendent Steven Bertram of Police Scotland, Joy Gilliespie of Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland, Andy Sirel of JustRight Scotland and Melissa Rutherford of Rutherford Sheridan. The discussion will be chaired by Sheriff Maryam Labaki, chair of the Tumbling Lassie committee. This event will attract 1.5 hours of CPD, and promote discussion, to reflect on the progress made in combating human trafficking and modern slavery exploitation in Scotland over the past decade.
You can attend in-person or virtually, as this is a hybrid event. For those attending in person, registration is from 5.30pm, with the discussion commencing at 6pm. Directions to the ARC Building are available here: https://www.gla.ac.uk/research/arc/contact/
This seminar is kindly sponsored by Pinsent Masons LLP, with our thanks for their support.
