Tairāwhiti Environment Centre in partnership with MyImprint, Tahu and The Chamber of Commerce presents Green Drinks. A monthly networking event where we discuss sustainability topics.
This month we will hear from:
Marty Bayley - Eastland Port General Manager – Infrastructure & Commercial will discuss how they incorporate sustainability into their operations including their concrete and pavement reuse practices, which saves tonnes of material going to landfill and reduces emissions. He will share challenges encountered, what they have learnt, what it has saved and what else is on their mind.
Jo McKay - Zero Waste Activator, Tairāwhiti Environment Centre will launch the centre's brand-new project which looks at the feasibility of opening a Construction and Demolition Reuse store in Tairāwhiti. Imagine cheap second-hand building materials to undertake your building or renovation projects.
Phil Nickerson - Solid Waste Manager and Charlotte Phelps - Waste Minimisation Lead, Gisborne District Council will update us on the Waste Minimisation and Management Plan Draft, which is out for consultation. This dictates the next six years of investment into waste for our region. They will give an overview of the plan, and we will use our 15-minute workshop to provide feedback on it for GDC. Come prepared with the support your business needs and what aspirations you have for our community in the area of waste.
Entry is free and includes snacks.
Please RSVP on Humanitix for catering purposes
We look forward to seeing you there!
