Tom Wurst is a local LEGEND in the Erie music scene. To begin naming his long list of accomplished bands would take all day but to name a few notable ones would be Thirty3 Cell, Scarwork, Deny the Sun, iScream, A Bed of Razors and for the last ten years, Storms Within. He has been a pivotal player in the scene for decades and this show is, not only to highlight his accomplishments, but also celebrate him as he faces a difficult time.
Tom was diagnosed with prostate cancer a little over a year and a half ago. Through the last year he has met with doctors, made treatment plans and decided on what was best for him at this point in time in his life. He will be undergoing extensive surgery in May. This surgery was originally scheduled for the beginning of March but the sick season got him and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. With that said, we are keeping fingers crossed for good health (the best it can be) between now and his surgery date.
With all that said, June 7th we will be having a Benefit for Tom, bringing together bands with people he has previously played with and bring the brother-bandhood together once again to benefit a brother during a difficult time in his life.
We will be putting together a Chinese Auction, 50/50, and other various games with doors opening at 3pm. The bands will start at 7pm. Souls Collapse, Scars of Agony, Mala Sangre, Maniacal Device and if Tom is up to it, Storms Within.
