Creature Academy: Urban Cryptids Edition - The Midnight Circuit

In every city—behind flickering streetlamps and beneath rusted fire escapes—there’s a world most people never see. A world of shadows, whispers, and creatures that don’t quite fit. Cryptids they’re called. Born from leftover dreams, half-remembered bedtime stories, and misplaced memories, these curious beings hide in plain sight.
You may have walked past them without knowing: the Neon Noodler blending into a glowing sign, the Snarlsnack lurking beneath a snack machine, the Umbrellaphant curled in a lost-and-found bin during a thunderstorm.
But lately, something’s changed. The cryptids are in trouble.
A secretive agency known only as The Bureau Underground has begun tracking their movements, mistaking them for threats instead of misunderstood wonders.
Enter: The Midnight Circuit—a hidden network of urban protectors who’ve issued an urgent call to Creature Academy. They need a new class of Junior Sleuths to infiltrate alleyways, decode clues, and defend the cryptids before they disappear forever.
Will you accept the mission?
In this high-energy, mixed media workshop, young sleuths will:
• Design cryptid disguises using fabric scraps, duct tape, and repurposed materials
• Build secret lairs and rooftop hideouts from cardboard, metal bits, and bottle caps
• Create case files and trap blueprints to help protect the creatures of the city
• Navigate the city’s forgotten zones—from graffiti alleys to glowing manhole portals
Each participant will receive their official “Junior Sleuth of the Midnight Circuit” badge and join the ranks of those who protect the unseen, the misunderstood, and the magical.
Notes on student ages: if those who enter The Midnight Circuit are 5 years and older, they can be dropped off within city limits without a parent. Midnight Circuit members who are below the age of 5 will need a guardian to accompany them on their adventure!
The city hums with secrets. The creatures are waiting. And the shadows are shifting.
