TNR is heading back to Vashon. The logistics are a little more complicated than usual so we ask that everyone make an effort to help make this successful. …and hopefully the ferry is running on time this go around.
We’ll take the 6:30 ferry to Vashon and return on the 9:00 ferry. Please have your ticket purchased (it costs $7.75) and be ready to board by 6:20. Please see the comments for a map of where to park and where to meet.
As always, we’ll have two leader-led groups, riding 17.4 and 19.6 mile routes. Each of the two leader-led groups will stick together and this will be a no-drop ride, with ride leaders on the front and back of each group. The nature of the some of the roads, with narrow shoulders, will naturally cause the group to string out and break up a little. Again, we ask for your help in making this successful. The ”faster & freer” group will do the long route plus a two mile loop to Jenson Point. They’ll be responsible for their own navigation and pacesetting, and for getting back to the ferry by 9:00.
The routes will generally be an out and back to KVI beach, from which you can look over the water towards Des Moines and Seatac. The long route has some added bonuses.
The food concession on the ferry ends service at 5:10, so if you want food or beverages, bring your own..
