The Coast Recital Society welcomes the celebrated Pacific Baroque Orchestra to the Raven's Cry Theatre, Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 2:30 pm.
JS Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” is considered one of the greatest works of classical music ever written. Composed in 1741 for solo harpsichord, it’s been recorded more than 600 times and arranged for various ensembles - string trio, jazz trio, saxophone quartet and synthesizer.
For this concert artistic director Alexander Weimann has created a fascinating arrangement for a small band of winds, strings and harpsichord that captures the emotional depth of the original with a wide array of instrumental colours.
