KISS-FIST: ASL & Plants & Fruits - oh my! Celebrating Pride at the Garden

It's Pride Month - *kiss-fist* - and we've got plants in every colour of the rainbow blooming just in time!

The Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden invites queer plant enthusiasts (or those new to the world of botanicals) to join us on June 21st from 11 am – 1 pm to learn some basic American Sign Language.

Amar Mangat (He/Him), a queer, Deaf ASL instructor from Vancouver, will be back on the Sunshine Coast to visit the Garden and celebrate Pride Month with us. Amar will teach ASL signs for queer identity, plants and fruits, plus some phrases that will come in handy later that evening at the Fruit Bowl Pride Dance!

This is a free event for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, however, for allies who wish to join, we will accept donations to support the Sunshine Coast Pride Society (suggested donation amount $20 – please bring cash only at the door).

Space is limited - Registration is required!
