In 2009, Deejay Hooker made the leap from Bristol, UK, to British Columbia, bringing with him a deep legacy in music and events. Back in Bristol, he led the city’s festivals and events team and shared stages with a who's-who of electronic and alternative legends—opening for the likes of the late, great Andrew Weatherall, Darren Emerson, Andy Smith (Portishead), Stereolab, Josh Wink, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), David Holmes, and Pulp. His studio chops are equally impressive: Hooker engineered and mixed the track "Warminster," a collaboration with Adrian Utley of Portishead and Mt. Vernon Arts Lab, which also led to a performance on BBC TV’s Beatroute. On stage, he’s played live with Future Pilot and Scanner, appeared at T in the Park with the Mau Collective, and even delivered a world music set for Tibetan high lamas aboard The Silver Sturgeon on the River Thames. Now based in British Columbia, Hooker is currently crafting his debut album. He’s also the founder of Exeter’s independent station, Phonic FM, continuing to amplify boundary-pushing sounds wherever he goes.
Andrew Allsgood has been moving dancefloors for over 25 years with deeply curated sets rooted in house, funk, dub, and disco. A Toronto native and now a key figure on Vancouver Island, he’s played festivals like Tall Tree, Cumberland Wild, Otherworld, and held down revered venues including Copper Owl and The Downbeat. Known for his eclectic vinyl releases under his own name and as Free (Ass)occiation, his work has appeared on RVNG, Common Edit, and more. Allsgood co-hosts a monthly radio show on CHLY 101.7 FM, and since 2018, he’s been a central figure in intentional dance spaces like Dance Temple and 5Rhythms. He’s shared the stage with legends from Optimo and Bonobo to Caribou, Peter Hook, and Steve Bug, always embodying his mantra: “Never trust a DJ who doesn’t dance.”
