Travis will be back in the shop for our next "around the world" wine class! And as usual when Travis is in the house, it's going to be a BLAST!
Merlot is the second most widely planted wine grape in the world. Even though it's associated with some of the greatest red wines in the world, not everyone is a fan. In fact, one particular movie in 2004 nearly put Merlot out of business! So join us as we explore the wide world of Merlot. For this class we will taste our way through several expressions of Merlot from different areas from around the world including: California, Chile, France, and Italy.
We'll discuss vineyard and production techniques, that mysterious concept of "terroir," and why their flavors are so different, even though they are made from the same grape.
Tickets are $40/person which includes a guided tasting of 5 wines. Merlot-friendly munchies and bottled water included. Advanced reservations are required!
Limited seats available. As always, we'll have additional bottles from the tasting for sale that evening at 10% off the normal retail price.
