Na drie spetterende edities groeit DanceOrientation uit tot een volwaardig dansfestivalweekend in hartje Gent, bij het sfeervolle Etage Tropical. Verwacht drie dagen vol workshops, optredens, feest en vooral: een unieke ervaring waar iedereen welkom is – ziend of niet.

Voor iedereen die van dans houdt – beginner of gevorderd, jong of oud, ziend, slechtziend of blind. Ook professionals, studenten, trainers en nieuwsgierige voorbijgangers vinden hier hun plek.

Van Cubaanse Salsa tot Bachata en Kizomba, van sensorisch dansen tot audiobegeleide workshops – DanceOrientation is méér dan dans alleen. Het is een beleving. Overdag leer je, ontdek je en verbind je via dans. ’s Avonds laat je je gaan op de dansvloer met shows, socials en live-acts.

Vrijdag 21 november – Themadag: Dans & Visuele Beperking
Voormiddag: exclusieve dansworkshops voor blinden organisaties.
Namiddag: Inspiratienamiddag: Inclusie in Beweging – Dans als Tool voor Toegankelijke Vrijetijdspraktijken
Een inspirerende en ervaringsgerichte namiddag waar we dans gebruiken als krachtige tool om te verkennen hoe we sport en vrije tijd écht inclusief kunnen maken.
We zoomen niet alleen in op bewegen en dansen met mensen met een beperking, maar breiden uit naar andere vrijetijdspraktijken: samen ontspannen, beleven, en verbinden zonder drempels. Vanuit dans als universele taal ontdekken we hoe beweging kan bijdragen aan een warmere, meer toegankelijke samenleving – op én naast de dansvloer.
Deze sessie is bedoeld voor begeleiders, studenten, zorgprofessionals, organisaties en iedereen die wil leren hoe je ruimte maakt voor inclusie in sport, cultuur en vrije tijd.

✔ Dans als zintuiglijke beleving: via geluid, aanraking, ademhaling en ritme.

Après trois éditions couronnées de succès, DanceOrientation devient un véritable festival de danse à Gand, dans le chaleureux cadre de l’Etage Tropical. Trois jours remplis d’ateliers, de spectacles, de fête, et surtout : une expérience unique et ouverte à tous, voyants ou non-voyants.

Pour tout le monde qui aime danser – débutant ou confirmé, jeune ou moins jeune, voyant, malvoyant ou aveugle. Les professionnels, étudiants, formateurs et simples curieux y trouveront aussi leur bonheur.

De la Salsa cubaine au Bachata et Kizomba, en passant par des ateliers de danse sensorielle et guidée par audio – DanceOrientation, c’est bien plus que de la danse. C’est une expérience immersive. Apprenez et explorez pendant la journée. Vibrez et dansez le soir avec des shows, des soirées et des lives.

Vendredi 21 novembre – Journée à thème : Danse & Handicap Visuel
Matinée : ateliers de danse exclusifs pour des organisations de personnes aveugles.
Après-midi : Après-midi d'inspiration – L'inclusion en mouvement : la danse comme outil pour des loisirs accessibles
Un après-midi inspirant et axé sur l’expérience, où nous utilisons la danse comme un outil puissant pour explorer comment rendre le sport et les loisirs véritablement inclusifs.
Nous nous concentrons non seulement sur le mouvement et la danse avec des personnes en situation de handicap, mais élargissons également notre regard à d’autres pratiques de loisirs : se détendre ensemble, vivre des expériences partagées, et se connecter sans barrières.
À partir de la danse comme langage universel, nous découvrons comment le mouvement peut contribuer à une société plus chaleureuse et accessible – sur et en dehors de la piste de danse.
Cette session s’adresse aux accompagnateurs, étudiants, professionnels du secteur social et de la santé, organisations, et toute personne désireuse d’apprendre comment créer de l’espace pour l’inclusion dans le sport, la culture et les loisirs.

Friday, November 21 – Theme Day: Dance & Visual Impairment
Morning: Exclusive dance workshops for organizations supporting people who are blind or visually impaired.
Afternoon: Inspiration Session – Inclusion in Motion: Dance as a Tool for Accessible Leisure Practices
An inspiring, hands-on afternoon where we use dance as a powerful tool to explore how sport and leisure can truly become inclusive.
We’ll not only focus on dancing and moving with people with disabilities but also broaden the scope to other leisure activities: relaxing together, sharing experiences, and connecting without barriers.
Through dance as a universal language, we’ll discover how movement can contribute to a warmer, more accessible society – both on and off the dance floor.
This session is intended for caregivers, students, healthcare professionals, organizations, and anyone eager to learn how to create space for inclusion in sports, culture, and leisure.
