Course Overview:
The purpose of this course is to provide a ground level, basic training, for new and old IBEW workers on
What a transformer is
What the components of a transformer are
How to read name plates
How a transformer works
How a transformer is used for single phase applications
.
Participation Minimums:
Must be a member of Local 196 and/or working within the Local 196 jurisdiction
Must be a 2nd step Groundman or higher

Upon completion of this class, Apprentice and Journey level members may move onto advanced transformer training
