Joshua Batten & the Lablighters @SHBC

Drawing from the melting pot of blues, roots, folk, and rock, Joshua Batten is a genuine performer with a rare ability to truly connect with his audience. Combining passionate vocals, accomplished guitar playing, layered arrangements, and inspirational lyrics, Joshua displays a depth well beyond his years. His original songs, shaped by personal experiences with neurodiversity, offer authentic reflections of introspective moments, humbly presented as universal experiences. Over the course of his career, Joshua has released three studio albums and become a favourite at festivals across Australia.

After four years of exclusively playing solo gigs, Joshua Batten has now formed The Lablighters to bring his back catalogue of songs to audiences the way he originally envisioned and recorded them. Bassist Zhang Ling and Drummer Jeremy Li each have over 30 years of musical experience, and bring new energy to Joshua’s finely crafted and inspirational songs, along with a selection of blues & rock classics that have stood the test of time.
