📰Join us for this year’s Samuel Beckett seminar 📰

🔵 Since 2010, the Beckett Research Group in Gdańsk—coordinated by Tomasz Wiśniewski—has hosted an annual seminar that brings together researchers and artists from around the world to reflect on artistic practices and explore theoretical approaches to the work of Samuel Beckett.

This year’s seminar, “Tools and Craft,” focuses on the practical aspects of working with Beckett’s texts—directing, acting, staging, and production. In conversations with invited experts, we’ll explore the following topics:

• Tomasz Wiśniewski (Poland) – Beckett’s Tools and Craft
• Clara Simpson (Ireland/France) – Sharing Crafts: “Not I”
• Paweł Sztarbowski (Poland) – The Sense of Catastrophe in Chekhov and Beckett: “The house
in which we live has long ceased to be our house”
• S.E. Gontarski (USA) – The Boredom of Theatre: Chekhov as Beckett, Beckett as
Chekhov
• Anita Rákóczy (Hungary) – Winnie, Willie and the Electric Drill: Kriszta Székely’s
“Happy Days”
• Angelo Romagnoli (Italy) – Revisiting Beckett’s Stagecraft: Spatiality as a
Directorial Device
• Alice Clabaut (France) – Godot for Children

🗣️ The seminar will be held in English.
