Hey North Life and Otsego County!
We’re excited to invite all Christians in our town—not just our church family—to join us for a special time of prayer and fasting! This is an open event for anyone who wants to come together as the body of Christ to pray for one another, our local churches, and our nation.
Every January, we pause to seek the Lord’s direction for the year ahead through prayer and fasting. Traditionally, we’ve fasted for three days—but this year, we’re stepping out in faith and committing to a whole week of seeking God together.
Don’t let the word fasting intimidate you! For some, this may be new, and that’s perfectly okay. Fasting can look different for everyone. At its heart, it’s simply choosing to lay down something that normally fills your time or attention so that you can make room for God to speak.
The Bible reminds us:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
That’s exactly what we’re doing—acknowledging God in our personal lives, our families, our church, and our nation, and surrendering to His perfect will.
Here’s how it will work:
• Sunday, January 4th: We’ll explain the fast and collect prayer requests.
• Monday, January 5th: The fast begins!
• You might choose to fast from food, sugar, social media, alcohol, Netflix, your phone—or anything the Lord places on your heart. Ask Him what He wants you to lay down this week.
• Monday, January 12th at 6:30 p.m.: We’ll gather at North Life Church to break the fast and pray together.
All prayer requests submitted—either ahead of time or brought that evening—will be placed on the altar. We’ll lift up each request as a community and then corporately pray for whatever the Holy Spirit places on our hearts.
This is always such a powerful time to experience God’s presence together! We can’t wait to see how He moves in our lives, our church, and our world as we seek Him with all our hearts. ♥️🙏🏻
