• The curator's role in the art world
• Types of Curatorial Practices
• Museum curation, gallery exhibitions, and independent curatorial projects

Week 2 - Understanding Art and Context

• Art Through Time
• Styles, movements, and their significance
• Connecting art to cultural, social, and political narratives
• Interpretation of Artworks
• Techniques to critically analyse and interpret art pieces

Week 3 - Basics of Exhibition Planning

• Concept Development
• How to create a coherent theme or narrative for an exhibition
• Designing the Space
• Principles of spatial planning and layout
• Balancing aesthetics with practicality

Week 4 - Collection Management

• Acquisition and Documentation
• Fundamentals of acquiring, cataloguing, and documenting artworks
• Preservation and Care
• Techniques to preserve and maintain art pieces

Week 5 - Engaging the Audience

• Educational Programs
• Designing workshops, talks, and tours for diverse audiences
• Digital Presence
• Leveraging social media and online platforms to reach broader audiences

Week 6 - Ethics and Challenges in Curation

• Ethical Considerations - Ownership, provenance, and displaying sensitive

• Navigating Challenges - Working with limited budgets, space constraints, and

Course Delivery

Duration: 6 weeks (1 module per week)

Format: Combination of lectures, case studies, and practical project.

Evaluation - Weekly feedback sheets, group discussions, and a final project

(creating an online exhibition).
