Join us on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Library's Carol K. Reinhardt Auditorium, as we bring back local author Dixie Abernathy to discuss the second book in her best-selling Cramerton: A Trilogy series!
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Gaston County Public Library, Gaston County Government, the Gaston 250 Committee, and the Gaston County Public Library.
In the year 1865, the union is reconciled once more, and yet, a divisive weariness blankets the war-torn South as it lay in ruins. Against this backdrop, in Thomasville, North Carolina, the full blooms of romance have blossomed between a union soldier and his southern love. And then another generation — another branch on the tree is introduced — as dreamer and inventor, Stuart W. Cramer, navigates his way through heartbreak and renewal in order to realize and grasp all that awaits him. His perseverance and commitment lead to others — to his three children whose own stories may interweave into the courageous and patriotic legacy left by those who came before.
The Cramerton Trilogy continues with these stories . . .
The iconic generations of a family tree that will span battlefields and ballrooms; triumphs and tribulations, all setting a course toward a little town named Cramerton. Covering a span of 48 years, Rise from Ruin is a story of hope, of renewed commitment, and of the peace that is so often sought by those who have endured the most.
