FolkSing August 2025
It’s time for the August 2025 edition of the Gaston FolkSing at the Gaston Pour House!
We will gather, as we do every month on the evening of the third Thursday, to share our songs, tunes, readings, stories, toasts, jokes, and each other’s company. It’s not a concert night, but rather, a shared folk experience. And the Pour House has plenty of soft drinks, wines, beers, ciders, cocktails, coffee drinks, and lovely foods to make it a full and complete evening.
Every month, we celebrate two or three optional themes to make it interesting.
Theme, the first… in honor of the founding of the National Labor Union in 1866, we will sing songs about the Labor Movement, the Working Class, and the People of Labor.
Theme two… Inspired by Respect for Parents Day and National Lighthouse Day, consider songs about our parents and those who raised us, guided us, inspired us, and provided us a beacon. Also, songs about lighthouses will work.
Theme, the Third… Celebrate National Tell a Joke Day by sharing a laugh.
