Volunteer Workday at Bayless Dune

This volunteer workday is part of our Garlic Mustard Week volunteer initiative. During the entire week, we will be hosting workdays focusing on removal of this destructive invasive species at various Shirley Heinze preserves, like Bayless Dune. It’s a chance to get some meaningful invasive management done across a wide swath of our service area.

Nature Highlight: This little preserve in Miller features oak forest, wetlands, high dunes and blowouts, and an incredible native plant diversity. It truly is a gem in the midst of an urban landscape. The cactus-studded, sandy slopes of Bayless need some love, though, as the garlic mustard has taken hold in some areas.

What to Bring: Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle as there is no potable water at this location.

Length: 3 hours

Weather Policy: Rain or shine. Event will be cancelled in inclement weather. No rain date.

Amenities: No potable water.
