2025 Dave Cain Strong 5K

We are excited to see you bright and early on Thanksgiving morning for the TENTH annual Dave Cain Strong 5k! This year we are collecting donations for TWO deserving locations serving Detroit's children. While donations are never expected, we can assure you that every contribution quickly lands in the hands of deserving local children who are able to benefit from it immediately.

Downtown Boxing Gym is a thriving after-school community on Detroit's east side. Rooted in one of our dad's favorite sayings-- It takes a village-- DBG has evolved beyond boxing and athletics to include a host of academic, art and STEM opportunities for young people. They are requesting gifts and gift cards for elementary and middle school-aged children, as well as new winter coats, hats and gloves. Mackenzie Elementary-Middle School is one of Detroit's largest schools, serving students in pre-K through 8th grade on the west side of the city. The school administrators have recently established a small food pantry to help students who are facing food insecurity during out of school times. Additionally, there is a need to have some extra uniform basics (spare, clean light blue or white polo shirts and khaki bottoms) on-hand.
