✨ Vibe Creators — Nostalgia: Still Life Through Memory
Ages 12–16
This term, our Vibe Creators dive into a heartfelt and imaginative unit all about nostalgia — exploring still life artworks through the lens of “what life was like back in the day… for them.”
Students will look at objects, toys, snacks, and childhood treasures from their early years and transform them into expressive still life pieces. The focus is on reconnecting with the small, magical moments of growing up and using them as powerful artistic inspiration.
Throughout the term, the class will blend skill-building still life techniques with fun, memory-sparking mini workshops, such as:
Drawing forgotten childhood objects
Revisiting early art activities (but with teen-level skill + style)
Exploring colour palettes inspired by memories
Turning sentimental items into stylised illustrations
Creating still life scenes that tell personal stories
This unit invites teens to slow down, reflect, and express themselves while rediscovering the joy, humour, and simplicity of their early childhood creativity. It’s equal parts skill development, self-expression, and delightful throwback.
At the end of term, Vibe Creators will also have the opportunity to showcase their nostalgia-inspired artworks in Creativity Hood’s first ever student exhibition, celebrating their stories, style, and growth as young artists.
A meaningful, playful, and deeply personal unit for teens ready to explore art through the memories that shaped them.
