The Changes & Challenges of Puberty - Greenville

Parents, your pre-teen is starting to undergo the changes that come with puberty -- and that often presents some challenges for you!

It's never easy raising children, but it often seems that our culture today is making it harder. This is most evident when it comes to discussions relating to sex, puberty, modesty, purity, and respect for unborn human life. But never fear, Family Honor is here to help jump start those important conversations between you and your pre-teen!

If you are the parent of a 5th or 6th grader, we encourage you to sign up for Family Honor's two-session Changes & Challenges program. Registration is only $30 per family. (Plus tax. Fee includes both sessions.) This in-person program will help you, as parents of pre-teens, prepare for the changes that are coming with your emerging teen AND will help keep communication open with you and child on important subjects.

>>>>>The FIRST session, on Friday, July 11 (6:30 pm - 8:45 pm) is for PARENTS ONLY. In this two-hour intro, you'll get information about: the development of emerging teens; how you can guide your child into their teen years & stay connected as family; understanding the virtue of chastity; how to present virtue to a child; and an overview of the Saturday session.

>>>>>The SECOND session, Saturday, July 12 (9:00 am -11:30 am) is for dads to attend with your 5th/6th grade son and moms to attend with your 5th/6th grade daughter. (In the same time frame, but in different rooms.) Topics for the mother/daughter and father/son sessions include: development of total person sexuality; fertility appreciation; challenges of growing up; development of unborn child.

These dads & sons and moms & daughters sessions serve as a gentle 'introduction to puberty' program to attend together with your pre-teen, in order to share in the wonder of growing up. Given by our experienced Family Honor Presenters (who are also parents) this program helps break the ice with your son or daughter and helps him or her appreciate God's gift of sexuality and the dignity of human life.
