Join Leanne Mohamad for the second of our autumn monthly conversations.
This October, Leanne is honoured to be joined by Dr Bob Gill and Dr Rob Laurenson for a vital discussion on the future of our NHS.
Dr Bob Gill is a general practitioner working in Kent since 2000. In 2012 following the threatened closure of Lewisham hospital A&E department he became involved in the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign and went on to produce the documentaries ‘Sell Off’ and ‘The Great NHS Heist’ detailing the threat to universal healthcare in England. He remains a passionate advocate for a publicly funded and controlled NHS and against the repurposed Americanised system it has become.
Dr Rob Laurenson is a GP working in south east London who is a nationally elected council member of the Royal College of GPs and was co-chair of the BMA junior doctor committee during the strikes between 2022-2024.
Together, they will explore how the NHS ended up in crisis, why privatisation is at the heart of the problem, and what can be done to rebuild a system that truly serves patients and staff.
The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A. This event is free and open to all.
