Join us for a magical evening at Historic Stonewall to celebrate the release of A Century of Pickin’, a heartfelt tribute album by local bluegrass band The Luggnutts honoring Sumner County’s own Possum Hunters.
In 1925, Dr. Humphrey Bate and His Possum Hunters became the first string band to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, laying the foundation for American string band music. Now, 100 years later—and in celebration of both the Possum Hunters’ and the Opry’s centennial, as well as the Sumner County Museum’s 50th anniversary—we've partnered with Volunteer State Community College to produce this special album. A Century of Pickin’ features reimagined Possum Hunters songs performed by The Luggnutts, who include descendants of the original band members.
🌟 Event Highlights:
Opening acts and a live performance of the album
Possum Hunters’ merchandise and pre-order album pickup

Whether you’re a bluegrass enthusiast, a history lover, or just looking for a joyful summer night with the family, this is a celebration you won’t want to miss!
