Digging Up Dessa: A MI School Production

A dramatic production by grades 3 to 7, $5 suggested donation/kids free!

Digging up Dessa is a superb comic drama about pre-teen challenges as they transition to young adults. Chosen by the cast from 6 plays, Dessa is the most challenging and rewarding. The narrative follows 4 kids over 3 or 4 days as these kids get to know one another and talk through their trials. One kid, Dessa, is infatuated with fossils and dinosaurs to such an extent that she conjures up the image of the 19th Century paleontologist Mary Anning. Mary and the science of paleontology provide the escape and the solutions to everyday problems.

Please note: the MI School kids are so excited about the show, we had to create two casts: one cast for Act 1, and another cast for Act 2
