Bog Jacket Class with Alison Maryon - Designer On Sewing Street TV

Start time 10am - 4.30pm. (Please arrive by 9.45am)
The ‘Bog Jacket’ has a history going back to the Bronze Age. It is the simplest form of clothing made from a rectangle of fabric. As such there are no pattern pieces, it is simply worked from taking your own measurements so I have no doubts you will go on to make many more! The width of the fabric being used will determine the length of your finished jacket, so do bring up to 2m to ensure it can fit all lengths. The seams will be finished with either a French or Bound seam. If binding then please bring 2-3 metres with you. Fabrics - must be: -non directional - stable (no stretch!) such as quilting or dressmaking cotton
You will need:
• Sewing Machine*
• thread
• scissors
• pen and paper
• Fabric (as above)
*6 machines are available should you need to use one on the day
Spaces are limited to a maximum of 8 to ensure you have the right level of support throughout the day.
