The University of Florida Honey Bee Lab invites Florida veterinary professionals (veterinarians, vet techs, vet students, etc.) to a hands-on honey bee workshop. In this full day workshop, participants will learn the essentials of taking on a new beekeeper client, establishing a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) with a beekeeper, conducting in hive health assessments and diagnostic tests on live honey bee colonies, and writing a veterinary feed directive for honey bees.
This event is for any veterinary professionals in Florida who are interested in taking on beekeeper clients. Prior beekeeping experience is not required. All necessary equipment will be provided. Space is limited to 30 participants.
This training qualifies for 6 contact hours of continuing education from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. At the end of the workshop, all participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Food is not provided at this workshop, but we encourage participants to bring a bag lunch to network with other attendees during the lunch break.
