Come join us for a fun and creative afternoon of block printing at Fruitland Valley Vineyard and Winery! Let your artistic side shine as you learn the basics of this unique art form from the talented Willow. No experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and creativity! All materials will be provided, so all you need to do is show up ready to have a great time. This workshop will cover the basics of relief printing—how to transfer images to a linoleum block, enhance them on the block, and then hand print the result with barens and wooden spoons. This process has remained roughly the same since the 15th century. It is an extremely DIY method that can easily be done at home.

Take a break from our digitally dominated world, develop your analog skills, and explore this beautiful world of hand-carved and hand-printed words and imagery.

Willow Misterly is an artist and printmaker based in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Fairhaven College in Bellingham, Washington in 2005 with a BA in printmaking. Since moving to Spokane in 2015, Willow started participating in art festivals including Artfest and Terrain, as well as earning her Master’s degree in teaching at Whitworth University in 2022. She continues to hand-carve and press her relief linocuts in a converted bedroom in her apartment.
