Come and help local musician Sue Harding celebrate her third album "The World", produced by local legend, Will Angeloro.
Sue Harding is a West Country singer, songwriter and guitar-player with a unique voice, range and heartfelt delivery which combine to create a mystically enchanting sound with soul-stirring elegance. There is also a retro sensibility to much of her music that references the songwriting of the 1960s and 70s folk revival.
With roots in both Celtic and American folk traditions, Sue’s music is a dappled blend of poetic lyricism and raw acoustic beauty. Think Nick Drake meets Joni Mitchell under an English sky.
Praised by the Financial Times for her evocative sound, Sue brings songs shaped by landscape, literature and lived experience.
Born in London but brought up in the Cotswolds, Sue doesn’t remember a time when she couldn’t sing but fell in love with roots and folk music when reading English at Manchester University and then found traditional sessions and folk clubs when she moved to Wales, picking up songs and techniques from the musicians she met.
Sue is now touring her third album, “The World”, named after the Tarot card. Ten self-penned tracks, recorded and produced in Frome, Somerset by Will Angeloro. These new songs reflect on the themes of completion and starting again…
‘I like the Tarot cards. I’m not convinced of their divinatory properties, but for me, the cards are a map and a representation of our inner selves, full of metaphor, poetry and imagery. The World is the last card in the deck and represents completion of cycles so that the self can move on and start again. It is very beautiful and positive and most apt for a person encountering transformation.’
Sue will also be adding a few songs from her debut album, Flight and second album, Darkling.
