The Let's Talk team are back and ready to welcome you to their free sessions for September.
The sessions are a chance to learn simple skills in Restorative Conversations and are centred on different themes from active listening to drama triangles. Let’s Talk facilitators come from a range of backgrounds and have all received training to enable them to pass on communication skills that can be applied in a wide range of situations.
One of the upcoming sessions will focus particularly on helping people turn heated debates into healthy discussions, even when there is strong emotion or disagreement. Jo Berry CBE is a founder member of Let’s Talk and also founded the charity Building Bridges for Peace, after forming a relationship with Pat Magee, the IRA member responsible for the Brighton bomb which killed her father, Sir Anthony Berry MP, in 1984. Jo and Pat have spoken together publicly more than 300 times since 2000 about the power of empathy, and turning away from blame and revenge – and it all began with choosing a depolarising conversation.

The Drama Triangle can help us realise that we are stuck saying and doing the same things in challenging relationships. Understanding this can help us find new ways of communicating.
🗣️Thursday 25th September: Depolarising conversations
How do we have conversations with people who hold very different views? Acknowledging the social and political divides that exist in this country we will explore how we can step in the shoes of the ‘other’ and have brave conversations that seek to bridge these divides.
