Art Circle & Shop Talk: Grow Your Practice Through Connections

If you HATE networking, this is for you.

It’s still true — it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. But this is NOT your typical networking event.

We’ll begin with an ART Circle, then transition into a cozy shop talk circle to exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.

Dress comfortably — there will be art supplies within reach, so bring your best self, but maybe not your favorite clothes.

Come ready to talk shop.

Coming into our field is no easy feat. This is an opportunity to connect with other newly licensed therapists, interns, and graduate students in their last year. Experience the value of community and build lifelong professional connections. You will always need a strong list of colleagues for referrals, and one of the best ways to build that list is by getting to know people in person.

She serves as Associate Faculty at the University of Phoenix (nominated Faculty of the Year in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024) and consulted with Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (2002–2023). She also served as a former elected official, holding the position of Vice President of the Little Elm ISD School Board.

Info: Shop Talk is where we get into a circle (of sorts) and talk honestly about the real work of being a therapist. No lectures, no panels, just guided conversation about the joys, challenges, and questions that come with this profession. It’s a chance to swap wisdom, share stories, and leave with new insight and real connections.

Info: The Art Circle is a space to slow down, pick up a brush, pen, or marker, and let creativity open the door to connection. No art skills required. Just a willingness to play, reflect, and see where the process takes you. It’s less about the product and more about the conversation and energy that flows when we create together.
