This is more than just a memorial—it is a momentous tribute to a man who devoted his entire life to service. For over 45 years, Officer Blacksmith dedicated himself to protecting and uplifting others. Most of his law enforcement career was spent proudly serving with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, and in recent years, he continued his service with the Lakeview Police Department. Before that, he served this nation honorably in the United States Army.
His legacy spans generations of officers and citizens whose lives he touched. From the streets he patrolled to the communities he helped shape, Officer Blacksmith was a model of commitment, courage, and compassion. His wisdom guided younger officers, his loyalty strengthened every department he served, and his presence brought calm in the storm.
This memorial will be a powerful and emotional farewell—a final chance to show our gratitude for a man who gave so much to so many. We urge everyone who knew him, served beside him, or simply wants to pay their respects to attend. Let’s fill Grace Church with the same love, honor, and strength he showed throughout his life.
Let us give Officer Blacksmith the hero’s sendoff he so rightfully deserves.
