Our Solar Story

As part of Niles Discovery Church’s Sun Day Celebration, a day when people across the nation “Rise Up for Our Sun-Powered Planet,” the Green Team of Niles Discovery Church would like to share Our Solar Story – the story of how we became a church powered by the sun – with you. If your faith community is considering or might consider going solar, this workshop is for you!

Join us at 3:30 on Saturday, September 20, to hear Our Solar Story. We will share how Niles Discovery Church decided to add a solar photovoltaic system to our church’s roof (see photo of installation), how we financed it, and what the economic impact on our power bills has been. We will give you real numbers and we will compare the cost from a decade ago to today’s costs for installing a similar system. And we will reveal what we didn’t include as part of the installation, and why – things you might want to include. Plus, there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
